The Client & Their Context
The Golf Athlete X is a performance coaching business operating from Vietnam. Their platform, Elev8Performance.asia, connects coaches and studios with clients: coaches publish training programmes and exercise libraries, studios manage their own rosters, and clients book sessions, subscribe and buy programmes.
The Problem
A marketplace like this is several products at once. Coaches need authoring and roster tools, studios need their own tenanted view, clients need booking and commerce, and all three need to be reconciled by one billing system. Payments had to work for a customer base spanning multiple countries, which no single provider covers well. And it had to run as an installable app on a phone, because that is where clients actually are.
The Constraint
One billing system had to reconcile three different kinds of customer — coaches, studios and end clients — across three payment providers and multiple countries. A subscription that charges the wrong party, or twice, is not a bug a coaching business recovers from quietly.
What We Built
- A REST API on .NET hosted under IIS, documented to OpenAPI 3.0 and secured with JWT bearer authentication.
- Coach, studio and client domains: training programmes, exercise and muscle-group libraries, rosters and invitations.
- Commerce: carts, orders, products, subscriptions and promotional codes.
- Three payment integrations: Stripe, PayPal and Payoneer, to cover a geographically spread customer base.
- Bookings and calendar scheduling across coaches and studios.
- Messaging, broadcasts, notifications and newsletter delivery.
- A React front end delivered as an installable PWA, with runtime configuration so the deployed app can be repointed without a rebuild.
Outcome & Scale
- Designed, built and taken to production on .NET and React from a standing start in October 2025.
