The Client & Their Context
The Punjab State Human Rights Commission is a statutory body protecting civil liberties across the Indian state of Punjab. Citizens bring complaints of rights violations to it, and the Commission investigates, holds hearings and issues orders.
The Problem
Access to a rights commission is only meaningful if people can actually reach it. A paper-only process means travelling to file, and no way to find out what happened next. Digitising it meant serving citizens with limited connectivity while giving officials a defensible case record because in a body whose orders carry legal weight, the audit trail is not a feature, it is the point.
What We Built
- A citizen-facing portal for filing petitions online.
- Case status tracking so petitioners could follow their own matters without contacting the Commission.
- Hearing management tools for officials to schedule and record proceedings.
- Digital issuing and recording of Commission orders.
